Is education important?

I believe I'll go one better than anyone else. Education is important, because it allows us to appropriately filter through all the deadwood to come to a proper and successful conclusion. The traditional three R's is not necessarily the best way to view and approach education. But, especially for those of us who are educators, it is important to understand that all people learn differently. Some must read, some must touch, some must hear, some must write, and some must demonstrate. ALL areas are necessary for people to gain a useful education. No one way is better or worse than another.

Education is massive. Education can seperate you from others, what does more knowledge do, other than better yourself? If anyone says it is not important, your kidding yourself. Your education can be from college or just everyday life. Read a book about something you do not know, talk to someone about something you do not know. Education is existence. The better educated in whatever relm the better you will excel in others. Want to understand physics, study it. Want to know more history, read about it. Want to understand the Bible, understand the language.

Good post!I do not think anyone likes to be told what to do though. It is our flesh doing that, it starts out when we are kids and continues throughout our life, it is normal.

Absoloutely not, I am not suggesting that. I am saying that an education has many benefits here on earth, and I am in favor of getting the best education possible.But in my opinion, I believe a relationship with God is very important and will benefit us later.

Understand what you are meaning but if you say is education important, that really shouldn't turn into a 'religious discussion'. I mean that is equivalent of saying is education important, well yes, but breathing is even more important. Or maybe education is but eating a good diet is important as well.

I'm of the opinion that if education has no application, then it's worth and significance is greatly reduced (i.e., knowledge for the sake of knowledge is one thing, but knowledge that can be applied is one of life's greatest tools).

I think the key is to make application to what we have learned, whether it be in life or in the clasroom. Life is all a learning experience for us as we venture from adolescence to adulthood.I think it has merit and worth. But yes, if we have knowledge and do not use it, then what good does it do us?THere is a beginning to everything, read Proverbs 1:7, knowledge also has a beginning.
